Switching off copper locations - are you next?
BT Openreach rollout to ultrafast full fibre broadband is well underway. The ultrafast full fibre network will connect homes and businesses across the UK directly to BT Openreach's exchanges with a single pure fibre cable.
Turning off the old copper network, PSTN, will mean anyone who uses an analogue line will see their phone line discontinued. Anyone who needs to communicate with customers and suppliers, anyone who takes orders, reservations, or answers enquiries, or anyone with a security or lift alarm that is linked to a phone line will have to change if they want to continue with their voice services.
The rollout is well under what with top-sell in Salisbury, Wiltshire and a further 220 locations have been announced.
